Overseas Travel Insurance – Frequently Asked Questions

When will my cover commence?

You will be covered as soon as your completed proposal form and payment is received by us. Cover under the cancellation section applies as soon as you have booked your holiday, as long as the policy is in force at the time or is arranged within 14 days of booking your holiday.

If you’ve planned it, we cover it.

Airline reservations, hotel bookings, ferry crossings, package deals – if part of your holiday includes payment in advance, your deposit is safe. If you’re prevented from going or you’re delayed, Unity's Scout Travel Insurance will reimburse you (subject to policy terms and conditions).

Please note that cover cannot be purchased more than 12 months in advance of the start date of your trip. If the start date of the trip that you would like to insure is more than 12 months away, please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Can I see all the terms, conditions & exclusions that apply before I enrol?

Yes, the full terms, conditions and exclusions that apply to this plan are contained in the policy booklet.

What cancellation rights apply to this policy?

Insurers may cancel this group policy by sending 30 days notice the policyholder at their last known address

You may cancel this insurance within 14 days of receipt of the Policy provided that no claims have been incurred.

How do I apply for cover?

  3. Complete the relevant proposal form

  4. Either:

a) Post your completed proposal form along with the premium to us.

b) Email your completed proposal form to us at scouts@unityins.co.uk. and we will contact you for the premium.
